Words from our founder, Guido Barocchi
It all started with two great passions: tourism, my lifelong work, carried on with love through four generations, and outdoor sports.
As a tour operator, we have always offered high-quality experiences in the cultural, artistic, and food & wine sectors. But for years I felt the need to create something new — something active. I just needed the right inspiration.
I have always loved the mountains and have done plenty of hiking and trekking, especially in the Dolomites, one of my favorite destinations. But something was still missing. Then, in 2023, I discovered cycling — specifically bike touring. I joined an event in the Alps and saw the region in a completely new way. Shortly after, I bought my first gravel bike. Now, whenever I have some free time, I head out to find a quiet village, a scenic country road, or a little café for coffee and a slice of cake.
And that’s how Living Roads was born: from a love of movement, nature, and discovery. And, true to our family tradition, from a commitment to working with the best partners and suppliers, people we proudly collaborate with every day to deliver authentic, unforgettable travel experiences.
